July 16, 2024 – In August, CTS GROUP will implement a summer schedule for European pallet transport. This means that there will be no fixed departures for certain destinations, and transit times might differ from what you are used to. This primarily affects road transport to and from Southern European destinations. But why is this the case? You can read more about it in this blog!

Driving Bans

Due to holiday traffic, roads can be extra busy at certain times during the summer. To reduce this congestion, several European countries implement additional driving bans for freight traffic during the summer period, usually in August. Trucks are not allowed on the roads during these times. Our planning team tries to account for this, but it may still affect the transit time of your shipment.

Limited Transport Options

During the summer months, many companies, especially in Southern Europe, slow down their business activities. This also applies to our local partners. This means we have fewer transport options to deliver your pallet shipments, and the transit time may differ from usual. Additionally, this summer the Olympic Games will be held in France, which will significantly impact transport to, from, and through France.

Adjusted Opening Hours of Loading/Unloading Addresses

Many companies adopt adjusted opening hours or temporarily close their doors during the summer period. Especially in the afternoon, many addresses are closed due to the heat. This makes it impossible to load or unload at these addresses. We advise you to check in advance whether the loading/unloading address is open before booking a shipment and to inform us of any changes.

Do you have transport needs to or from Southern Europe in August? Don’t worry! Even with our summer schedule, we can still serve you. We would be happy to discuss the possibilities.
