We find movement and development important within our organization, but we also like to encourage this outside the organization. That is why CTS GROUP has been a logistics partner of Athletics Union for some time. Since last year we have expanded the partnership and also attached our name to the talent team. The talent team is made up of promising athletes up to 20 years old. The team supports them in various aspects that are part of achieving a top sports career. This year, the new group was unveiled during the NK Indoor Athletics.
Last Saturday and Sunday was the AA Drink NK Indoor Athletics in Omnisport, Apeldoorn. Here the top of Dutch athletics competed for the championship title. At this tournament, all-around champion Anouk Vetter, supported by CTS GROUP, also made her return after a hiatus of several months. She made a notable achievement with a silver medal in the long jump and a bronze medal in the 60 meter sprint.
Also, the athletes are introduced in the Athletics Union press release below:
Athletics Union presents the CTS GROUP Talent Team 2020
During the AA Drink NK Indoor Athletics in Omnisport, the six faces of the CTS GROUP Talent Team of 2020 were presented.
The CTS GROUP Talent Team of 2020 consists of the following talents:
1. Alida van Daalen (2002, PAC Rotterdam), shot put & discus throw
2. Raphael Bouju (2002, AV Feniks), sprint & relay
3. Robin van Riel (2000, AV Attila), middle & long distance

5. Rick van Riel (2002, AV Attila), medium & long distance
6. Olivier Hendriks (2003, AV ’40), para athlete (class: athletes with two blades)
In 2020, the CTS GROUP Talent Team will welcome two new faces, two young talents with potential for the future: Rick van Riel and Olivier Hendriks.
Rick van Riel, indeed the brother of, kicked it in 2019 at the European Championship U20 (Boräs) until the final of the 1500 meters where he eventually finished fifth and where brother Robin, then also a member of the CTS GROUP Talent team, won the silver dragged in.
With the addition of paralympic talent Olivier Hendriks, the CTS GROUP Talent Team 2020 is complete. In 2017, Hendriks devoted himself entirely to athletics and not without merit: at the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai (2019), he, as a sixteen-year-old, took the silver in the 400 meters.
A learning environment for young athletes
The Athletics Union has a long history of talent teams which form an important springboard for a career with seniors. With the composition of talent teams, we create a learning environment for young athletes in which they can gain new experiences and develop themselves at an accelerated pace. The age limit of 20 is different from the composition of the talent teams from the past. Only athletes under the age of 20 can be selected; that is the age for which the talent team can make a difference.
Beautiful batch with a lot of talent
Technical director Ad Roskam: “It is fantastic that CTS GROUP has been supporting us for a long time in transport and distribution matters around our internships and tournaments. The fact that she will again commit to the talent team this year is an enormous support for the athletes and for us a wonderful opportunity to make this partnership an even greater success. The CTS GROUP talent team is very diverse; with talented pitchers, sprinters and medium distance athletes and this time also a young paratrooper. It is fantastic that we can give these talents extra support in their further development. ”
CTS GROUP
Edwin Beentjes, CEO of CTS GROUP, is also proud of this commitment to the talent team: “As an organization, we are constantly and literally moving. The development of our service, but also that of our employees, plays a central role in this. Moreover, we like to give new (logistics) talent a chance within our organization. From our position as a progressive logistics service provider, we believe it is important to also stimulate the development of talent outside our organization. As a logistics partner of Athletics Union, we already had the link with the sport and when the opportunity appeared to also support the talents of the talent team, that was a logical next step for us. The talent team’s approach fits in nicely with our own philosophy and we are delighted that in this way we can contribute to the development of athletics in the Netherlands and of these talents in particular. ”
