The new coronavirus broke out in northern Italy this weekend. Several areas have been locked by the Italian authorities to prevent the virus from spreading further. Please note that this may delay your shipment to or from Italy.
The new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is gripping the world. Since the outbreak in China last December, the virus has spread to more than 25 countries and more than 2,400 have died of the disease worldwide. Italy now has about 150 infections, mainly in the Lombardy region. It is not yet clear where exactly these infections come from.
The Italian government has taken drastic measures to prevent further infections. Several cities in the provinces of Lodi, Cremona, Piacenza and Padova (postcodes 26, 29, 35) are currently closed and an entry and exit ban applies. Access to surrounding cities can also be difficult. In addition, in certain areas large public events have been canceled and public institutions have been temporarily closed.
No further measures have yet been taken in the Netherlands. At CTS GROUP we follow the advice of RIVM. Our service for the rest of Italy and Europe remains unchanged until further notice.
